Post-game update: Daniel Jones suffered a torn Achilles tendon, according to Pro Football Talk. After the game, Colts head coach Shane Steichen told the media, “[i]t doesn’t look good,” when speaking about Jones. That would end his season and leave his status for the start of 2026 uncertain.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones has exited the team’s Week 14 matchup vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars after suffering a non-contact leg injury. It was quickly deemed an Achilles injury and he has been ruled out for the rest of the game.

The veteran was seen slamming his helmet on the ground as trainers came out to check on him and he was later seen hobbling to the locker room for further evaluation. Backup Riley Leonard has entered the game as his replacement.

Jones was already playing through a fractured fibula and his Achilles injury on Sunday was actually the opposite leg. Nevertheless, this is brutal news for the Colts as they have dropped three of their least four games and a loss today would put them a full game behind the Jags for first place in the AFC South. Jones arrived to the franchise in the offseason and emerged as one of the biggest surprise stories in the entire NFL this season, leading Indy out to a 7-1 start with the potential to secure the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC. Sunday’s Achilles injury could possibly bring his 2025 campaign to a premature end.
