Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker lost connection with Apple devices still located in her home at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Fox News reported.

The devices included an Apple Watch still on a charger, the outlet reported.

When asked about the pacemaker on Tuesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told reporters, “I really don’t want to get into narrowing down the time because narrowing it down means we could miss some tips and leads.”

He said officials “are working to see if that time could be tightened up.”

Newsweek reached out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for comment.

Who is Nancy Guthrie and When Did She Go Missing?

Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her home in Arizona on Saturday.

...

She was dropped off at her house by family on Saturday night, Nanos said at a news conference on Monday. He said the next day, someone from Nancy’s church called the family to notify them that Nancy did not attend service. The family spent some time searching for Nancy, then contacted law enforcement, Nanos said.

Why It Matters

Nanos said on Monday that officials "saw some things at the home that were concerning to us."

"We believe now, after we processed that crime scene, that we do in fact have a crime scene, that we do in fact have a crime, and we're asking the community's help," Nanos said.

The sheriff also said there were things at the crime scene that indicated Nancy "did not leave on her own."

Nancy requires daily medication, and it could be fatal if she did not have the medication every 24 hours, Nanos said.

Nancy Guthrie News Conference: Latest Updates on the Search

At a news conference on Tuesday, Nanos said officials finished looking through Nancy’s home and have turned it over to family.

DNA samples were gathered and submitted for analysis as part of the investigation. “We’ve gotten some back, but nothing to indicate any suspects,” Nanos said.

The sheriff declined to say whether Nancy’s disappearance was thought to be random or targeted.

When Nanos was asked whether officials were looking for her alive, Nanos said, “We hope we are.”

Ransom Note Sent to TMZ: What We Know

TMZ said they got what appears to be a ransom note for Nancy, but the outlet said it has not been able to verify it.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said it is aware of reports circulating about a possible ransom note or notes regarding the investigation into Nancy’s disappearance.

“We are taking all tips and leads very seriously. Anything that comes in, goes directly to our detectives who are coordinating with the FBI,” the sheriff’s department wrote on Facebook.
